I'm back! .... I think?!

Sorry for the lack of posting these past few weeks!

We had our BBQ for the Troops last weekend and my time has been pretty consumed between that and things at work being CRAZY! But I think with this 3 day weekend coming up I'm back under control!

My Imagine came in the mail on Tuesday and I had a few minutes to update it and print/cut a couple images out that I was playing around with, so hopefully I'll have a project with those first cuts for you this weekend!

I still need to update my Gypsy to my Imagine and then upload the cartridges to it as well ... That should be intersting! Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to do this painlessly? The gypsy can be a little fickle I've noticed!

So, I look forward to getting back into my BLOG GROOVE this weekend! Although I've not been able to craft, I have had a little time to keep up with the blogs I follow and have seen some amazing projects! Can't wait to create myself!

Happy Crafting!

I FINALLY Caved!

Hey Everyone! Happy Weekend!

I really need to get my blogging in check as I posed 8 projects on Sunday and nothing since then! I'm happy to say I have a little crafting time today so we'll see if I can get some things done!

But let's get to the real business!

I CAVED!!

I FINALLY ordered my Cricut Imagine!!

I'm SO Excited for it to come! My husband really is the best as he told me that if I didn't order it now he'd order it at the highest price he could find it ha ha so I finally did it!

I snagged mine up at CricutMachine.com and got it on sale for the 299.95 special, plus no shipping! So now those cartridges I've been buying on Ebay for the machine I didn't have will now have a friend! WooHoo!

I hope everyone has a fabulous day, and hopefully I'll get some projects up today!

Happy Crafting!

NSD - Challenge #12 from My Pink Stamper

LAST ONE!

So I wish I had time to complete all of the challenges, but I'm happy with what I got to accomplish ... Here is my entry for Challenge #12 which was something with a kid theme!

How cute are these dinosaurs!

I thought that this would be a great idea to have on hand to send to my little cousins! I used the Create a Critter Cartridge for the dinosaur and planned out the cuts on my Gypsy!

Again I used the My Pink Stamper Fabulous Phrases set for the sentiment, as well as some faux stitching around the top of the card.

I then used pop dots to make the dinosaur POP off the page! The patterened paper is from a DCWV boys stack although the name escapes me at the moment!

I hope you like!

That's it for my entires in the National Scrapbook Day challenges! I hope this week goes by quick because I'm already ready for the weekend!

Happy Crafting!

NSC - Challenge #11 from My Pink Stamper

Almost there! Here is my submission for Challenge #11 from Robyn over at My Pink Stamper which was to use pink, green and black!

I kept this card very basic ... I thought about using the Cuttlebug for the pink strip but I decided to keep it plain and stamp my sentiment on it.  The sentiment is from the Fabulous Phrases set from My Pink Stamper which I LOVE! Have I said that before?!

I used 2 fabric flowers and fastened them together with a clear gem silver brad and fastened that to the card with a glue dot ... I find those work best for flowers!

Like I said ... simple! But I think that it allows for the sentiment to be the main focal point!

NSD - Challenge #10 from My Pink Stamper

Ok so I know I jumped a bit ... but I didn't have time to do all the challenges!

Here is my submission for Challenge number 10 from My Pink Stamper which was to be a card or layout with a pet in it!

I made this for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day ... she's got a little of everything so I thought making her somthing was a safe bet!

I used a weaved pattern with the ribbon to give the corner some dimension and pattern.

I welded the My together from the Gypsy Font cart on my gypsy. I also matted the photos in white, then black and used an orange brad for detail.

The grand puppies was welded together on my gypsy from the Cuttin' Up Cartridge.

Finally I took a trip to Walmart and got this frame that was meant for a 4 x 6 photo, but covered the whole back with the LO. I only paid 6.88 for the frame which I thought was a great deal!

Finally all framed and done!

Hope you enjoy!

NSD - Challenge #5 from My Pink Stamper

We're moving along! Here is Challenge number 5 from My Pink Stamper was to do anything but! Something 3D that wasn't a LO or a card!

I've had this idea for a while, and finally did it and am PSYCHED with how it came out! Hope you are too!

I made a Patriotic tree! I found this tree on sale at Michael's about a year and half ago after Christmas! I think I paid around 2$ for this size ... did you know I LOVE bargains?!

I used the Stand and Salute Cartridge to cut out ribbons ... which I faux stitched to give them some detail, but not too much to take away from the meaning of the tree.

I also used the stars from this cart ... again faux stitched.

Finally I topped it with USA ribbon! I thought it was a cute touch to the top ... I'm thinking of adding a Large start to the top as well!

So there you have it ... Not a LO or a card! I'm thinking I may also make other cut outs to go with other holidays to make additional trees, or use to change out in the winter!

NSD - My Pink Stamper Challenge #4

Challenge #4 from My Pink Stamper was anything for Mother's Day!

Here are some of the cards I made yesterday!

I used the Pagoda Cartridge that I borrowed from Sue-Ann and found these great looking simple flowers!

I used a Cuttlebug embossing boarder folder to get the zig zag effect!

I used a mauve chalking ink around the beige flowers to give them just a slight touch of pink!

And small pop dots to give the card just a little bit of dimension, but not take away from the simple design.

Hope you like them!

NSD - My Pink Stamper Challenge #3

Here we go again!

Challenge #3 from My Pink Stamper was anything Breast Cancer themed ...

Here's my submission!

I used the Cricut Pink Journey's Cartridge which my mom gave me ... LOVE IT!

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the bottom and small pop dots to pop the ribbon up just a bit!

Happy Crafting!

NSD - My Pink Stamper Challenge #2

Challenge number 2 from My Pink Stamper was to use Kraft Cardstock ...

Here's my Entry!

I decided to do Father's Day cards and try to get ahead for once ...

I made this circle, used chalking ink and a gold #1 (done with perfect pearls)

The Dad's Day came from the Designer's Calander Cart.

Finally I adhered the circle with a pop dot over the twine to give the card dimension.

Hope you Enjoy!

NSD - My Pink Stamper Challenge #1

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day! I hope you had some time in your craft room! I had a little bit as today was Mother's Day and although I'm only a mom to a couple of puppies I had to do work around the house and get ready for my mother and mother-in-law to come over today!

So without any filler, here's what I did for Challenge #1 from My Pink Stamper

I kept the card basic ... A2 sized, in black with a white overlay

I used some Diamond Glaze and Alcohol Ink to make the flame ... it shines in the light although the picture doesn't show it well. I used the Fabulous Phrases set from My Pink Stamper for the sentiment and used a piece of paper to break it up and stamp it on top of itself instead of in a line like it is.

I also used a Sizzix embossing folder which Sue-Ann and I found at a Michaels on clearance for like 3$!

So there you have it entry 1! I didn't have time to do them all but what I did do was lots of fun!

Happy Crafting!

Thank You ...

So unless you live under a rock, you've seen the news,

Osama Bin Laden has been killed

I know I'm just a crafting blog and usually put up pictures of cards and on occasion my yard and home projects, but I think it's important that we take time to thank those around us that have done so much.  The news reporters keep referring to the 3000 people that were lost that day, both those that have lost, the friends and family of these people keep reminding the reporters about the military ... somewhere around 6000 that have been lost since this began.

I'm so thankful for our military and all the AMAZING and BRAVE work that they do so today I'm showcasing them!

My Wedding Day! Some of the AMAZING men that shared it with us ... not sure where the other 3 got off to!

Samara, Ayotte, Blanchard and my husband ... yes I call them by their last name, it's how I met them, it's how I know them and love them!

Our USMC

Blanchard and my husband ...

So today PLEASE take the time to thank our military ... a smile, handshake or hug it all goes a long way.  Say "Welcome Home" as many of our men never hear those exact words.

Thanks for letting me be sappy today, God Bless America, and God Bless our Troops!

Happy Crafting!
